Project 8 = DONE

I mean, come on. I'm awesome. I didn't actually find the Classic challenges that hard. For me, it was just a matter of getting all the level-specific goals done, then getting all of my points in one huge combo at the end. Most people try to do one or two huge combos during the Classic, and that's why most people find it really hard. The hardest one for me was actually Capitol, since I couldn't find a place in my run to break 10 bones until 1:40 in. Since bailing is primarily luck-based, I had to play for 100 seconds just to see if I could get lucky. Yeah, not fun. That one took me 3-4 hours, every other one took me less than two.

Animal Chin, however was a completely different story. I suck at stringing together long combos, my talent lies in racking up all my points in quarterpipe combos. The Get Theres were, for me, the hardest part of the game, bar a few ridiculous Turf Wars and Competitions. So to go from the top of the Capitol Building, across Main Street, across the entire backyard of the School, across the entire Skate Park, and into Fun Park? Next to impossible.

Here's a video:

It starts getting crazy about 30 seconds in, because both of your balance bars are pretty much fucked. You can't use Focus until you get to the bottom of Skate Park, so that's about 15 seconds where you have an extremely difficult time. I made it to the Skate Park wall about 9 times, attempted to wallride up it, and failed miserably. I even made it to the bottom of that final ramp twice, only to find my focus run dry and bailing immediately. Altogether it took me 562 tries, but to be fair, more than half of those weren't even 10 seconds long.

I think I'm going to hit World At War, and try to finish the campaign up in time for the Gears 2 expansion. Once that hits, I'll be playing nonstop to try to keep my first on x360a status.
