Transformers = DONE

Actually, I finished it a while ago, but so much shit has been going down with the GSL that I haven't had the time or energy to post until now. I won't go further into that for now, but keep your eyes peeled.

Anyway, now onto Transformers. The truest testament to how badly this game was made that the official game guide has incorrect collectible maps for 4 of the 6 levels. So instead of "Hey, here's a level with collectibles, here's a map, enjoy" it became "Hey, here's a level with collectibles, here's a map, HAHA MOTHERFUCKER NOW YOU HAVE TO FIND THOSE LAST 6 ITEMS YOURSELF". I mean, really?

The game itself has a great setup. You're a giant robot - kill shit. I even enjoyed the base mechanics, and it felt really fucking awesome picking up robots and throwing them into buildings. Not to mention the sweet combos and the neat little pitch to slo-mo that happened every time you destroyed an enemy. It has the basics down, but just fails so utterly in delivery.

Movement is clunky and almost unbearable, on foot or as a car. If you are driving, you can spin out by hitting a curb or go through a corner of a building completely unfazed. When driving, you push semis aside like feathers while going 10 mph. When walking, they're immovable. There's no consistency to anything. This is the classic movie game - utter shit, but if it were produced as an IP, it would be something amazing.

The total 1000 will run you 30-40 hours, depending on your patience and luck with finding the mystery collectibles. Not worth playing unless you picked it up cheap, don't care about completion, and just want to get all "HURRR I'M A HUGE ROBOT" for a few hours.
