Two down

I was just trying to get the achievement for 3 championships in a row when NCAA Football 07 decided to stop being glitchy and give me everything I earned that game. A conference championship was all I needed after that to get the 1000. I also finally finished up MLB 2k6, putting me at 67110 / 70575 and 95.09% completion. Prototype time!

Sports games FTL

So, the time has come for me to make a dent in my sports backlog. When I was at 92%, I vowed to play nothing but sports games until I got to 95%, then to take a break with Prototype. It's been going okay, but I've gotten hung up on my inability to get 10 free throws in a row in NCAA March Madness '07, and the buggy achievements in NCAA Football 07 have screwed me out of what would have been a completed game by now. I only have 500 points to go though, hopefully I can mop that up in the next few days and get cracking on Prototype.

Once Prototype's done, I'll be getting to 25% of Rank 100 in Gears, then clearing up Mirror's Edge, Left 4 Dead and hopefully CoD5 before I play Dead Rising. I'm looking to get all of that done before Gears 2's TU4 hits on July 28th.

PARTY ANIMALS = DONE and other good stuff

So, Party Animals is done, and I can now honestly say that Mirror's Edge is the only game left on my gamercard that I'm looking forward to getting more points in, which I'll be saving for the time being. Thanks to the W@W DLC, I now need to hit 67,047 for 95% completion, meaning my goal is 1,162 away. 530 of that will come from March Madness 07, ~500 from NBA 2k7, and the rest from Madden NFL 07. I'm really not fussed about the specifics, I just know that I want to get all these points from sports games.

Once that's done, I'll be playing Prototype. This game managed to slip completely under my radar, and that's disappointing, seeing as how it looks pretty much tailor-made for me. Just the mere thought of being able to run up a building, jump off, grab a helicopter in midair and throwing it into another one sounds so awesome it could cure cancer.

Also, I've been messing around with the layout of my blog. It's not finalized, but I like the way it looks so far.

BEAUTIFUL KATAMARI = DONE

So, that's done. Fun times. I also polished off Jumper, Looney Tunes, and Crystal Quest, which were all embarrassing me. I've been taking advantage of the win bonus weekend in Gears 2, and loving it. When I play in a group of 5, we average something like a 80% win ratio. I get 1000 XP in an average game, so I can pull 14 games worth of XP in 10. That's not too bad at all. Here's hoping it'll be permanent.

Once this weekend's over, I'll be finishing up Just Cause and making a mad dash to 66,809 to win a race I have with Birky to 95% completion. Two sports games, Party Animals and maybe Mirror's Edge will do the trick. After that, I'll get to level 63 in Gears 2 (20% of Rank 100), then put a new game on the card, probably Dead Rising.

So, I recently completed the last of the ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT of the shitty, luck-based races that comprises virtually all of GTA IV's tacked-on multiplayer. Guess what happened? Fucking nothing. About 120 gametypes and 50 hours of my time went into Auf Weidersehen Petrovic and nothing. I saw no evidence of the infamous glitch people talk about during anything, so God knows if and when it'll fucking unlock. I really don't want to redo everything, but I guess I'm going to, with a new boosting partner this time. The most disappointed I've ever been with a game in my entire life (besides maybe Blinx 2), and I'm going to end up playing it more than probably anything else on the 360, besides Gears 2.

In other news, I started up Just Cause, which I thought was a fun 10 hours of story mode. Now it's 30 hours of grinding to sweep up everything. Joy. I've also decided that it's time to earn some more EXP in Gears, although I kind of want to hold off on it a little. Earning EXP in Horde is one step away from earning it in campaign, and I'd gladly play Act 5-5 for 100 more hours rather than play the still-shitty multiplayer for 1000.
