Legends and Folklores Surrounding the Northern Lights

There were explanations concocted as to the origin of the northern lights before the dawn of modern astronomy. Sometimes, legends and folklores are more exciting to hear than the scientific explanation behind the cause of the northern lights. For example, during the medieval period the aurora borealis was believed to be a bad omen and that it’s an indication of either a war or famine. One of the simplest explanations given was that of the Maoris of New Zealand. For them, the northern lights were nothing but reflections from campfires and torches.

Another exciting myth about the northern lights comes from the Menominee Indians of Wisconsin stating that the aurora borealis is where you can find the spirits of legendary hunters and fishermen. This is one of my favorite myths because it values the importance of their ancestors’ hard work and legacy. A similar myth can also be found with the Inuit of Alaska, but they believed the northern lights are the spirits of the whales, deer, and salmon that they killed for food.

When Planning a Dream Honeymoon

My husband and I traveled quite a bit before we actually got married. In fact traveling together is one of our favorite things to do. So when we started thinking about renewing our wedding vows, we really wanted to make this a special trip for us. Meribel Ski Resort Has to Be the Best

I just have to say one thing from my experience at the ski resort I went to in the country of France during my holiday vacation last year. I just have to say that the Meribel ski resort has to be the best resort I have ever been to in my life. I know for a fact that this ski resort had the best kinds of activities for me to participate in at the time, and the skiing that I was able to do at the ski resort was great. I got to do an unlimited amount of skiing there at the ski resort. I was very happy that I was able to have so much fun there last year. I really enjoyed staying in the ski chalet that I was able to stay in while I was there at the Meribel ski resort for my holiday vacation last year.
